JOB DESCRIPTION:  Serenity Lane, one of America's premier centers for the treatment of chemical dependency, has an opening for a Chief Financial Officer. The current CFO will retire as of June 30, 2010. Serenity Lane is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. We have gross revenue of approximately $10 + million. We operate a hospital and residential treatment facility in Eugene, Oregon with outpatient facilities in several cities in Oregon and SW Washington. We are accredited by TJC and CARF. All accounting and billing is centralized in the administrative offices in Eugene. The position oversees all aspects of fiscal and accounting operations and supervises a staff of 13. Areas of responsibility include bookkeeping and accounting, credit and collections, setting financial criteria for admissions, revenue recognition and recording, patient billing and reimbursement, including insurance and patient pay. The CFO reports directly to the CEO.

QUALIFICATIONS: The sucessful candidate will possess a strong practical knowledge of accounting principles, as well as financial reporting practices and procedures. We would prefer a candidate with experience in healthcare financial operations; however, we would consider someone with a background in non-profit financial operations. Knowledge of Medicare and Medicaid regulations not required. In addition, the company is embarking on a fund raising effort to build a new campus so a knowledge of accounting for donations and contributions will also be important. A CPA is preferred but we will consider years of recent comparable experience.
