Doug Gomez

Doug Gomez, Ph.D.

Doug is a Licensed Psychologist in the state of OR. He has worked clinically in state hospital, correctional, and inpatient substance use recovery settings. Doug is also an Assistant Research Professor at the University of Oregon in the Psychology Department.

De-escalation Training/Conflict Resolution (CEs available)
De-escalation training provides an opportunity to learn more about the different verbal and non-verbal methods of reducing agitation in others after they have become emotionally escalated, resulting in a greater ability to maintain safety for all parties involved.

Steve Harris

Steve Harris, CADC-II

Steve has been active in the recovery community for more than 27 years, having worked with Serenity Lane patients and families for over a decade as a counselor, manager and community educator. He currently consults with businesses and insurance companies about SUD in the workplace.

Effects and Consequences of Alcohol & Other Drugs
In this wellness training for employees, attendees will learn about the signs and impact of Substance Use Disorder (SUD), including determining severity and understanding the personal and financial impacts.

Pete served 36 years with the Eugene Police Department, including nine years as Chief of Police, and then as the Chief of Staff for St. Vincent de Paul Society of Lane County before joining Serenity Lane.
