Holistic treatment at Serenity Lane is built around the reality that recovery is more than stopping substance use. It's rebuilding a life – the relationships, routines, physical health, sense of purpose, and emotional stability.
Holistic care does not replace clinical treatment; it supports it. At Serenity Lane, evidence-based therapy and whole-person wellness are woven together because healing one without the other rarely leads anywhere lasting. Our residential campus in Coburg, Oregon, was designed with this in mind – from the layout of the expansive private grounds to the best-in-class clinical programming that fills each day.

Before you start packing, it helps to know exactly where things stand. Serenity Lane's policy is straightforward: devices that support your daily life are welcome, and the limits that exist are there to protect the recovery environment – not to make treatment harder. Here's the full picture at a glance.
Holistic programming at Serenity Lane is managed by a dedicated wellness facilitator and integrated directly into the residential schedule at our Coburg campus. Clients don't have to seek it out – it's built into the fabric of daily life in treatment.
| Physical Wellness & Recreation | Mind & Body Programming | Community & Connection |
|---|---|---|

Clients have agency in how they engage with these offerings. Participation in wellness activities is encouraged and built into the schedule, but clients choose what resonates with them based on their own needs and interests.
The connection between physical health and emotional recovery is well-established; that’s why at Serenity Lane, movement, art, rest, nutrition, and stress management are treated as clinical tools, not extras.
Here's how each dimension of wellness will be addressed during treatment:
Spirituality at Serenity Lane is never required, and it is not tied to any single religion, tradition, or belief system. For clients who want it, it is an invitation to reconnect with something meaningful beyond the substance. For those who don't, the space still exists for personal reflection, quiet, and growth.
Where it happens: The Dwight Lee Spiritual Center opened in 2022 on the Coburg campus, named after a longtime Serenity Lane Spiritual Advisor. The Center serves as a dedicated space for reflection, meditation, ritual, and exploration across all faith traditions. In 2025, a labyrinth was added to the grounds for embodied meditation and contemplative walking.

Who leads it: Lydia Beinhauer, Spiritual Advisor – Bachelor's in Psychology and Philosophy from Canisius University, Master of Divinity from Iliff School of Theology. Her approach is heart-centered and interfaith, incorporating meditation, guided imagery, and singing into weekly sessions.
What's available:
Don't wait any longer to live the full life you deserve. The team at Serenity Lane can guide you to freedom from addiction.
Clinical treatment at Serenity Lane is paired with experiential approaches that engage our clients beyond the therapy room. These are not recreational add-ons; they are intentional clinical tools that create different entry points for processing, healing, and skill-building.
The mix of physical, creative, and reflective experiences gives clients multiple pathways to engage with their recovery and helps identify which tools will actually be sustainable in their daily lives after treatment.
Rebuilding daily life is one of the most underaddressed parts of addiction recovery. Serenity Lane's residential schedule provides clients with daily practice in the habits and routines that support long-term sobriety.
Dedicated Wellness Facilitator
Wellness programming at Serenity Lane is managed by a dedicated wellness facilitator – not a counselor with a secondary responsibility, but a staff member whose entire role is coordinating physical and recreational activities for residential clients.
Weekly activities include:
| Time of Day | Activity |
|---|---|
| Morning | Gym, fitness, mindfulness walks, yoga |
| Afternoon | Pickleball, basketball, floor hockey, disc golf, horseshoes, badminton, group walks |
| Evenings / Downtime | Sound bath meditation, community gardening, self-defense training |
| Weekends | Mountain hikes, spiritual center programming |
Clients are encouraged to try new activities and find the ones that feel sustainable, because the goal isn't just sobriety during treatment; it's building a daily life that makes staying sober worth it.
Research on why whole-person treatment improves outcomes is consistent: clients who engage in physical activity, spiritual exploration, and community connection during treatment show greater stability in recovery after discharge. That's not a coincidence – it's the result of addressing the parts of addiction that purely clinical approaches don't reach.
Holistic care at Serenity Lane helps clients:
These aren't soft outcomes; they're the infrastructure on which clinical treatment is built – and without them, the work done in therapy has fewer places to land.
A lot of treatment programs list holistic activities as amenities, but at Serenity Lane, they're integrated into the clinical model. Managed by a dedicated wellness facilitator, delivered by contracted specialists, and treated as part of the treatment plan rather than optional additions.
A few things that set the holistic approach here apart:

Recovery is about more than just stopping substances. It's about building something worth staying sober for – a body that feels strong, a mind that's quieter, a daily life with structure and meaning, and a sense of purpose that doesn't require a substance to maintain.
At Serenity Lane, clinical and holistic work happen side by side – because that's where lasting recovery actually lives. We admit 7 days a week. Same-day admissions are possible at our Coburg residential campus, and most major insurance is accepted. Call us at 800-543-9905 to get started.
