On September 10, 2014, eight years after beginning our capital campaign, we had our groundbreaking ceremony on the property in Coburg and celebrated our grand opening in 2016. Thanks to the partnership and generosity of our community, our campus includes a hospital unit, counseling centers, lecture space, cafeteria, residential buildings, and a gymnasium. The addition of a spiritual center is coming soon in 2021. These buildings, the beautiful setting, our programs and exceptional staff are vital to the healing process of our patients.
Since 1973, more than 55,000 patients and their families have relied on Serenity Lane to help them break free from the disease of addiction. With our larger campus on 15 serene acres in Coburg, Oregon, just six miles north of Eugene, we doubled our treatment capacity to 130 residential patients. In years to come, the site can be expanded to serve 260 patients.
We are grateful for the generous support we received throughout the capital campaign, allowing us to raise $6M to make our Coburg campus possible. Like any home or business, capital improvements continue to remain a real need, both in Coburg and at our seven outpatient offices throughout Oregon. If you would like to help us in our continued efforts, please give to our Capital Campaign fund today.
